ChicoStart is a startup incubator that helps companies grow by providing office space, internet access, meeting pods, events, and mentorships. Launched in 2013, their goal is to make Chico a community where problem solvers and innovators have what they need to thrive, in order to grow

Chico’s business ecosystem.


They host multiple events throughout the year and provide mentorship to early-stage companies and budding entrepreneurs.

Center for Entrepreneurship

The Center for Entrepreneurship is dedicated to helping all students on the CSUC campus pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. The Center offers access to the Chico State Accelerator Fund, a fund that provides direct support for commercially viable businesses that are developed by Chico State students. The Center aids with outreach, research, events and staffing for BlueTech Valley. The Center also produces several competitions a year where students can compete for cash prizes. Meriam Library

The CSU Chico library features a fully functional Makerspace with 3D printers, vinyl cutters, sewing machines and other graphic design tools available to all faculty, staff and students. For more information about the Makerspace, email makerspace @

Idea Fab Labs

The Idea Fab Lab located in Chico, near downtown, is a makerspace featuring a variety of tools including laser cutting, 3D printing, electronics zone, and screen printing. The facility is a 6,900 sq. ft. building which is divided into zones, with each zone devoted to a particular tool or set of tools. In addition, there is a gallery as well as multiple multi-use areas. They offer several membership options for entrepreneurs depending on the level and use of facilities one needs.


They also host a variety of classes in programming and working with tools.
